Home is where the HEART is.....

Hello everyone: The SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge have a new theme for you to play with this week and I hope you come and join my teammates and me in our gallery.
The theme is "HOME SWEET HOME", so we want to see some houses, any houses in your cards.
People's house, doggie and kitty houses, bird houses, etc. you get the picture, right?
This is the card I made to inspire you to come and play with us.

This image is from a Stampin' Up! set called "Mediterranean Moments", I love the sketchy look of all of this beautiful images.  I stamped this one on a piece of watercolor paper that I die cut with a Cross Stitch die to give it that home feel. I colored it with some Sakura Koi watercolors and an aqua painter, the Pattern Paper is from my small stash and the sweet little key from a bag of about 30 keys I bought some 2 years ago from a second hand store in town. The whole bunch cost me only $5.00, woo hoo!!

*********************************************************************

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The row of sweet little bird houses was stamped with a stamp set I bought on Ebay some time ago, the stamp is longer than the image you see here, the houses on the bottom corner are from this same stamp.  The sentiment is from my old and fabulous stash of Flourishes sets.

So I hope you get inspired and come and play along, don't forget to go to the SHOPPING OUR STASH blog to check out my teammates creations for more inspiration.

Thank you for stopping by, I always read every single comment you so kindly leave on my posts, I want you to know I appreciate them more than words can express.
Until next time, happy stamping.

Welcome Spring.....

Hello everyone: As one of the Guest Designers at the HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE with a theme of "Anything Goes or Spring Colors". I have a card to share today that will make you wish Spring was already here.
Here is my card and I hope you stop by the House Mouse challenge blog to check out the rest of the members beautiful creations.

This image is from a stamp called "FLOWER ARRANGING" and it's stamped on a piece of watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored with Sakura Koi watercolors. I just wanted this sweet image to be on it's own so I just framed it with the retired SU "Tulip Frame" embossing folder and I added a little banner I made with the SU "Flower Builder" punch, I stamped the word "Spring" with an old Alphabet set. I punched a little hole on the top of this leaves and ran a piece of twine to create the banner.

*************************************************************************

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs, the bottom image was purchased on Ebay but I don't know what company it belongs to, I apologize for this.

I hope you get inspired to share any of your House Mouse, Happy Hoppers and Gruffies creations, for more inspiration, hop over the HOUSE MOUSE AND FRIENDS MONDAY CHALLENGE

The design on the back is done with an Altenew stencil called SPLATTER and some Texture Paste mixed with silver glitter.  The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called PONSETTIA.

A Little Reminder.....

Hello everyone: We've come to the halfway point at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE with the theme of PAPER PIECING not to be confused with PAPER PIERCING.
This technique is really fun and it helps you use all of those scraps of pattern paper we can't seem to get rid of because they are so beautiful so this is your chance to do just that and come and play along with my teammates and me in our gallery.
The card I made was truly heaps of fun, this images are from a retired Stampin' Up! set called "Flower Shop" and it's perfect for this technique, the flowers are stamped with Stazon black ink on the different pattern papers and then, punched with the coordinating punch, I added some sponging to the edges and the centers are die cut also with scraps of pattern papers.

The leaves are punched with the Bird Builder Punch on paper scraps also.
The sentiment is from an old Flourishes set called "Orchids"
*************************************************************************
This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The sentiment is from Paper Tray Ink and the small flower on the corner from SU "Petite Petals"

Now,  my teammates and I decided to add a group of cards from THE FLOWER CHALLENGE of 2017 that we created and that are some of our favorites, our dear friend and challenge coordinator Vivien Hodge was so sweet and helpful in making all of us this beautiful graphics with the cards so I hope you enjoy seeing them, hope you like them too.

Don't forget to go check out my teammates blogs so you can see their cards too and leave them some comment love.

Ok, you used WHAT!!!??

Hello Stamping Friends: Well, as the title of this post indicates, the new challenge for this week over at SHOPPING OUR STASH is about using an image on your card front that is stamped with something other than an actual rubber or acrylic stamp.  You can most definitely use a regular stamp for your sentiment or to add to your scene but, some of the elements on your card MUST be created using other things that you might have around the house or in your craft room.
This is what I did here so here is my card that I hope will get you inspired to join my teammates and I in our gallery.

When I found out about this challenge, I immediately recalled watching THIS AMAZING VIDEO on UTube that left me speachless!!! This young man's name is Jay Lee and, one of the things I love about him besides the amazing way he paints with water colors is that, on most of his videos, he's got his little baby boy right next to him, whether sitting on the high chair or on a carry on in front of him, sometimes the baby is asleep in his crib in his room and his dad and us are watching him on a little pop up window on his computer screen.
So, as soon as I knew what this challenge was going to be about, I set out to use the video to create my card.  And I had the perfect stamp for it, this cute little Hedgehog from the Penny Black set called HUGS who is blowing bubbles.
The ones I created are made with the cap of a re-inker for the big bubbles, the cap from a Stampin' Up! marker for the medium size ones and even the opening of a ball point pen for the smaller ones, I used ink pads to ink them up and, when I stamped the circles on the watercolor paper, I used a small brush to add water to the centers, being careful not to go outside the line.
The sentiment is from an old Flourishes set called "Orchids", the grass is done with a Purple Onion stamp. I sponged the sky and grass with Distress Inks.

*********************************************************

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.
The sentiment is from a Power Poppy set called Best Day Ever, the flowers at the bottom are from the Penny Black set, colored them with Prismacolor pencils.

I hope you feel inspired to join my teammates and I in the SHOPPING OUR STASHgallery, I'm sure you can find a lot of things around the house or your craft room that are NOT STAMPS for your card, we can't wait to see what you can come up with.  Don't forget to let us know what you used, ok?
This is what I used, from left to right.....the bottom of a ball pen, the cap of a re-inker and the cap of a Stampin' Up! marker.

Thank you for stopping by, I always read every single comment you so kindly leave on my posts, I want you to know I appreciate them more than words can express.
Until next time, happy stamping.

Seeing Dots!!!!!

Image may contain: text

Hello dear blogging friends: Yes, yes, my teammates and I are seeing dots in our new challenge over at RETRO RUBBER and we want you to come and play with us in our gallery.
Here is the card I made to inspire you to join us.

The image on this card is from a very old and beautiful Stampin' Up! set called "Apothecary Art" that came out in the 2012 Occasions Mini and it' has the companion die set and a piercing mat design too.
I chose this very bright yellow colors to perk me and you guys up during this very long and cold Winter season.  I stamped this image on watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored with SU markers, the dots on the background were made by inking one side of a dots embossing folder and running my panel through the Big Shot. I didn't have dotted ribbon so I created my own with a Daffodil Delight SU marker.  For the butterflies, I stamped some dots with Daffodil Delight and the "Gorgeous Grunge" stamp set (2013-2014 Annual Catalog) and then punched them out with the Butterfly punches that coordinate with the "Papillon Potpourri" (2012-2013 Idea Book and Catalog). I added a cut out doily sponged with Daffodil Delight for a bit of texture.

*******************************************************************
This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The sentiment is from a set from Paper Tray Ink, the dots from Gorgeous Grunge.

So I hope you get inspired to come and play with my teammates and I in the RETRO RUBBERgallery, we can't wait to see what you can create.

I LOVE TO TRI!!!!!

Hello dear blogging friends: I guess by now, the picture on my blog lets you know I'm a Triathlete. The Sport of Triathlon is very dear to me because I've been able to accomplish the dream of becoming an Iron Man.
Some of you might not heard of this race so, without going into to much detail about it, (which I tend to do since I love it so much) the Iron Man Triathlon consists in swimming 2.4 miles in a lake or the ocean, biking 112 miles and then, running a 26.2 Marathon.  The thrill of completing one of this grueling races is beyond amazing and I've done it 3 times!!!!!
So, when I learned that the theme for this week's challenge over at SHOPPING OUR STASH was "SPORTS" the first one that came to my mind was Triathlon.  I don't have any stamps for this sport so I had to get creative and figure out how I was going to make a card with this theme.
So, I went on a hunt on the net and I found THIS CARD that I used for my inspiration.

I put the image of the card on my computer screen and traced the little figures onto a piece of Vellum. Then I remember I had a set of  old dies with wavy designs on my stash and I thought they would be perfect for replicating the design on the card on Pinterest.  After I cut the card stock with the dies, I positioned them on my watercolor paper panel to figure out where I was going to draw the figures, I  then held the lines with a bit of tape and took this panel to the light box, where I traced the figures with pencil and then, fill them out with a black watercolor pencil and a small brush.
The words were printed on the computer and punched out with the SU Word Window Punch.

**********************************************************************
This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

This sentiment is done using two stamp sets, the words are from an old Flourishes set called "Old Fashioned Florals" and the stars are from a Fiskars "Graduation" set.

So, whether you have some sport stamps in your stash or not, we hope you get creative and come and join us in the SHOPPING OUR STASH gallery, we can't wait to see what you make.

Thank you for stopping by, I always read every single comment you so kindly leave on my posts, I want you to know I appreciate them more than words can express.

Paper PIECING, not PIERCING.....

Hello dear friends: My teammates and I at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, have a new and fun and not to often used technique for you to have some real fun with. We are talking about PAPER PIECING which should NOT be confused with PAPER PIERCING, ok?
So here is the card I made to inspire you to come and play along with us in our gallery.

I used some of my beloved, one sided pattern paper scraps from Lili of the Valley, this line of papers is sadly discontinued but, I was lucky enough to grab about 10 fabulous, 8x8 paper pads with the most beautiful colors and designs.  So I stamped my flowers from the retired Stampin' Up! set called "Fabulous Florets" and the leaves, from another retired SU set called "Peaceful Petals with Stazon black in onto the paper scraps and then, fussy cut them. I sponged a bit of distress inks one each of the pieces and arranged them on my embossed panel, the sentiment is from the Peaceful Petals set.

***************************************************************************

This is the finished inside of my card.

I used one of the leftover flowers and leaves I fussy cut to embellish the inside, the sentiment is from a retired Flourishes set called "Dahlias".

So, there you have it, I hope you feel inspired to join my teammates and I in THE FLOWER CHALLENGE gallery, we can't wait to see what you create.
For more inspiration, go to the blog and check out what the rest of the Designer Team created, you'll be glad you did.

I stamped it on watercolor paper with Versafine black ink and clear heat emboss it then, colored the brown mousy with some very old Derwent watercolor pencils, I really love the brown colors on this set. The black little mousy is colored with a SU black marker as well as the candy canes.
The pine branch details is done with the retired SU die set called "Pretty Pines", the pattern papers and the ribbon, are from my stash.

A Bit Of Spring.....

Hello dear blogging friends: I'm so tired of this cold and gray days, I long for Spring and Summer, of days full of sunshine and warmth, right now it's 4 degrees here in my town, the weather channel says it feels like -8!!!!! Brrrr!!
I wanted to make a card that will give me a bit of a taste of Spring, which is kind of almost here and imagine the Fairies fluttering about in my Tulips and Hydrangeas.  I will play along with a few challenges at the end of this post.

This dreamy image is from a company named 49 & Market, I bought this set plus a couple of more sets with the Faeries from Ebay and today, I searched for a website that would sell them but couldn't find any. There are some that sell some 49 & Market stamps but, even if I found several places that sell their stamps, I couldn't find any that sell the Fairy ones.
I stamped the image onto a piece of die cut watercolor paper with Versafine black ink and clear heat embossed it then, colored it with Sakura Koi watercolors and a small brush.
The pattern paper is from a retired line from Lili of the Valley, the Vellum rose on the bottom corner was die cut with Vellum and colored with Distress Inks and a sponge dauber.

********************************************************************

This is how the INSIDE of my card looks like.

The sentiment and the image on the corner are from the same set.

Ruby Red Valentine.....

Image may contain: text

Hello everyone: With Valentine's Day just around the corner, my teammates and I at the RETRO RUBBER challenge want to inspire you to create some sweet Valentines for your family and friends so, here is my card and I hope you come and play along with us in our gallery.

I bought this rose stamp set on Ebay back in 2016, I'm so glad I wrote the date on the back of the set, I'm not very good at remembering when I buy my stuff, this is a good idea to kind of keep track of when and how many sets you buy.
I stamped this rose onto a die cut panel of watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  The die cut "Love" sentiment is from a Penny Black die set called Love and Joy, the 4 sentiments cut really beautifully.

***************************************************************

This is a picture of the finished inside of my card, the sentiment is from a retired Flourishes set and the single rose from the above stamp set.

Joyful Butterflies.....

Hello everyone: It's still a looooong time until we see any butterflies up here in the Northern States and that's why I made this card to at least see some in paper, I can't wait to see them fluttering around in my flower beds.

This images are from a retired Stampin' Up! set called "Papillon Potpourri", one of my favorite sets.
I stamped the butterflies on a strip of watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored with Sakura Koy watercolors. I added some gold gel pen to the spots on their wings then, I punched all of them with the coordinating punch.
The embossed background is done with a Birch Trees embossing folder, the sentiment is from a retired Flourishes set called "Orchids".

***************************************************************
This is a picture of the finish inside of my card, I've been doing this for over a year now and believe me, besides the card looking very nice, it saves me time when I mail them.

Both the sentiment and the butterfly are from the same sets I used in the front panel.

Oh Snap!!!!!

Hello dear blogging friends: I know all of us, at one time or another, forget someone's birthday so, in addition to our regular birthday cards, we need to have a few BELATED ones in our stash.
Here is one that will make the recipient forget all about you forgetting to send it on time.
I will play along with a few challenges at the end of this post.

See what I mean? one look at this cutie pie is enough to forgive and forget your lateness.
The image is from non other than Purple Onion Designs and it's called Tucker, just as adorable as can be.  I stamped him on a panel of watercolor paper with Stazon black ink and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and a little bit of SU Markers for the gift, which is also from Purple Onion Designs and it's called Little Packages, I masked the other two and stamped the smaller one with Stazon Black ink then, with the help of my MISTI, I was able to place it exactly where I wanted. Colored it with Prismacolor pencils too.
The sentiment on the top is from a Power Poppy set called Best Day Ever which saved me from the dilemma of not having ANY belated sentiment stamp.  The sentiment on the bottom was written and printed by me on my printer, thank goodness this thing is working properly now.

**********************************************************************
As always the inside of my card was finished, the sentiment is from a retired SU set called "Perfectly Penned", the Balloon is also from Purple Onion Designs and it's part of THIS SET, so cute!!!

I'm playing along with the following challenges.

There She Goes Birthday.....

Hello dear blogging friends: I'm always looking for a good bargain when it comes to my crafting supplies, I've had a self imposed monthly budget for a few years now that I seriously try to follow, although I must confess sometimes, I've gone a bit crazy and.....well.....you know, right?
Some of this great bargains come from other crafters who sell their stuff, mostly stamps sets that are discontinued or that they can't use anymore on their blogs because they are retired, this stamp set from "There She Goes" is one of them.
The SHOPPING OUR STASH challenge's theme for this week is BIRTHDAYS, you can use balloons, cake, gifts, etc. Here's a great chance to start on your stash of Birthday cards for 2018.

The images are so cute and so darling, this little girl, with her stack of gifts is just delightful and the best part is that all of this images can be used for Birthdays as well as Christmas.
I stamped this sweetie with Stazon black ink on a die cut piece of watercolor paper and colored it with Sakura Koi watercolors and a few Prismacolor pencils for shading, now that I'm looking at it on this photo, I think I went a bit overboard with the coloring, there are so many different ones on this small image, I just couldn't stop.
The balloon was die cut from pink Vellum and tied with embroidery thread, I still can't believe I was able to actually tie a knot on the tiny end of it.
The sentiment is from the set and the pattern paper from my stash.

**********************************************************************
This is a picture of the inside of my card, I've been finishing the inside just to save time when I mail them.

All of the images here are also from the set.
So come along and play with my teammates and I in the SHOPPING OUR STASH gallery and start your birthday card stash for the year.
Stop by our blog and check out my teammates wonderful creations for more inspiration.
