Peackok Feathers for Muse #131.....

Hello Friends: I have a quick post for you today to participate in the Muse Challenge for this week with a theme of Feathers. Here is the card I made for it.
This was a quick and simple card that I made with the retired SU set called "Nature's Nest", this beautiful Peacock feather looks so elegant, I think, on it's own or in this trio.
Colored it with a bit of my shimmery paints and the aqua painter. I don't know if the picture captures the shine on them, hope on this close up you can appreciate it a bit more.
Looks better in person.
Here is the Muse card that inspired mine.I thank you so much for stopping by, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Love reading your comments.
Until next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.

A Spring Song for Freshly Made Sketches.....

Hello everyone: This week at Freshly Made Sketches, Amy O'Neall has a fun and versatile sketch for us, so here is the card I made with it.
The sentiment is the only stamped image on this card, the rest is a die cut piece of Vellum with a music score and the Party Music Die die from Memory Box. I bought this die a while ago to make cards for my very musically talented grandchildren.
The sentiment is from a sadly retired SU stamp set called "Spring Song".
Here is a close up of this pretty die.
The purple Rhine Stone is the only embellishment I added just to keep it CAS.
This is the sketch that inspired this card.I hope you like this very CAS card, I've been enjoying making this types of cards, I love that, even if they don't have a lot of layers or embellishments, they still convey a message. Thank you for visiting, I truly appreciate it. If you want to leave me your comments, I would love to read them and, if you have a question, please ask me.
Till next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.

Write!!!!! for CASology .....

Hello again, dear friends: This is my first ever participation on the CASology challenge blog. Their cue word for this week is WRITE, an art that is sadly disappearing. I remember my school years where we had to write everything with pen and paper and some of our teachers even ask us to write with fountain pens, I had an ink well kind of like the one on this card. We even had a Calligraphy class and we did certain exercises to teach us to write with beautiful penmanship. So, when I saw the cue word for the challenge, I immediately thought of this image, here is my card.
This beautiful image is from a  Flourishes stamp set called "From the Desk of.....", this company sadly closed it's doors about 2 years ago but I'm fortunate to own several stamp sets and this is one of them.
I stamped the image on Canson Canva water color paper with Stazon Jet Black ink and colored as always, with my SU write markers and the aqua painter. I used a bit of gold gel pen for the tip of the fountain pen and the ink well. I think this image is so romantic and reminiscent of a time where letters were written in beautiful paper, addressed and stamped and sent on their way by regular mail. Fortunately, we stampers are still doing this, by making our hand made cards and sending them to dear family and friends. Here is a close up of this pretty ink well and pen.
I hope you like this card, leave me your comments or questions, I will be happy to answer them. If you want to receive my blog posts, I invite you to subscribe to my blog, I will be thrilled if you do.
Here is the theme picture for this week's CASology challenge.Thank you so much for visiting, till next time, keep on stamping.

Berries and Holly for Merry Monday.....

Hello my friends: This week at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge blog, Karren Johnson is our host and she asks us to use Holly in our cards, how lovely is that?! Here is the card I made, hope you like it.
This is a lovely image from Power Poppy's Bough Wow Wow by Marcella Hawley, I just love this beautiful Christmas Ornaments surrounded by the beautiful greenery of the Holly leaves and berries.
I stamped the image with Stazon Jet Black ink onto a panel of Canson Canva water color paper and colored with this SU markers: Garden Green, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard, So Saffron, Rich Razleberry, Real Red, Sahara Sand and Basic Gray. I added a bit of SU Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler for the berries and some of the clear Dazzling Details for the ornament.   I wanted to emboss the panel but I couldn't find an EF that would fit nicely without embossing the image too so, I just scored a couple of lines on all 4 sides as a frame.
And this is the beautiful picture that inspired this card.I want to thank you so much for visiting, please leave me your comments, they always make me smile. If you have any questions, please ask me.
If you would like to receive my blog posts, please subscribe to my blog, I would love that so much.
Till next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.

Merry and Bright for the Pals Paper Arts.....

Hello my dear friends: I have another Christmas card to share with you, this time is for the Pals Paper Arts  Sketch Challenge #265.  I know it's still early in the year but, the rush of Holiday card making is almost here so, this time, it wont catch me off guard.  I've been really in a roll participating in a bunch of challenges, I think this has helped me a lot gaining confidence and getting better with my creativity, they push me just enough to get out there and show my cards to all of you, trying new styles and designs. So, here is the card I made, hope you like it.
This is a card made with 3  delightful images from Purple Onion Designs' Stacey Yacula , you can see why I just can't stop smiling.  Now, I did a bit of recycling for this card, the gold piece of paper at the top is from a perfume bottle my dear hubby got me last year, I saved all 4 sides and trimmed one of them to use on this card, it's really a beautiful design.
This images were stamped on Canson Canva water color paper with Stazon Jet Black Ink and colored with almost all of my SU write markers. The garland on the Christmas Tree and the star on top  were painted with a gold gel pen and then, I added a bit of sparkle with some SU Dazzling Details. The sentiment is from the Power Poppy set POINSETTIA  and it's heat embossed with gold glitter embossing powder, the presents have a little bit of shimmery gold and silver paint on the ribbons.
This is the sketch that inspired this card.
08-27 PPA 265 I hope you like this card, I want to thank you for stopping by my blog today, please leave me your comments and any questions you might have about this card, I will be happy to answer them.
Till next time, keep on stamping.

Little Succulents for Match the Sketch.....

Hello everyone: I'm back with another card I want to share with you.  I'm having so much fun participating in all of this challenges, I'm practically making a card every day and that is just fabulous. I usually do it early in the mornings, after my hubby goes to work, that way I have no interruptions, LOL!!
I made this card for the Match the Sketch challenge.
I love, love Succulents but I haven't been able to keep them alive once they arrive at my house. It could be to much water or not enough, or not enough light and warmth, specially in the Winter, which can be long and brutally cold up here in the Midwest. So, when I saw the adorable images from Power Poppy by Marcella Hawley, Sassy Succulents I just had to have it. This adorable images of this fabulous plants are irresistible.
I colored them with SU write markers in Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Perfect Plum, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. The paper and ribbon are from my stash. I used the Argyle embossing folder from SU for the Pistachio Pudding panel behind the images.
I hope you like this card, I love to read your comments so please tell me your thoughts and questions.
This is the sketch that inspired this card.
Maybe you would like to give it a try.
Thank you so much for stopping by, till next time, Happy Stamping.
Hugs from Maria.
