Batty Princess for Make it Crafty.....

Hello again, everyone: This is my first participation in the Make it Crafty Challenge, this time they have a theme of Shades of Black and White so, images of Halloween started dancing in my mind.  I went looking for my box with "spooky" stamps and this one just jump at me, a perfect little image of a sweet Batty Princess , colored with just my black Prismacolor pencil and paper stumps dipped in baby oil.  Here is my card.
This is the very first time I only use one color for a stamped image, I can honestly say, I'm very happy for the way this image looks. My first try was with a black water color pencil but the shades were just not coming along at all. Then, I tried the SU basic black marker, with similar results.  I didn't want her pretty dress to be totally black because the details of it were going to be gone so, finally I reached for my Prismacolor black pencil, my paper stumps and the baby oil and the results were fabulous. Everything is colored with this one pencil but, when I got to her face I was so scared I was going to ruin it that I practice a couple of times on some scrap water color paper where I stamped just her face and started coloring it. I soon realized that I really didn't have to add any color to it, the paper stump had enough of the pigment to give her that ashen look I was looking for. The only other detail I added was a little bit of a white gel pen for her stockings, the buckles of her little shoes and her necklace, where I placed one of the smallest pearls from Stampin Up!
Then, I punched a small circle with SU 1 3/8" punch to create a moon and I sponged some Memento Tuxedo Black ink all around her to try to make her look "Dark and Dreary".....Not a chance!!!!!  She is just to cute and sweet to scare anybody.
So, there you have it my friends, my little Batty Princess, I hope you like it. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask me.

Joy Unleashed for Fresly Made Sketches.....

Hello everyone: This week at Freshly Made Sketches, Jan Mitchell has a great sketch for us to participate in this challenge. I love sketches, they truly help me with the designs of my cards, since this is an area that sometimes stops me in my tracks.
Here is the card I made using this fantastic and versatile sketch.
This is a beautiful stamp from Our Daily Bread and it's called Butterfly Branch and fortunately, it also has a companion die that has this pattern cut into a piece of transparent plastic so you can align the die on top of your stamped image perfectly, I don't think I could have paper snipped this image, no matter how careful I would have been.
I stamped the butterflies on Canson water color paper and colored with my SU markers, I wont list the colors since you can pretty much use any color you want for this image.
The embossing folder I used is from Cuttlebug and I picked it because the swirls look to me like the way butterflies fly.
This is the sketch that inspired this card.
Thank you for visiting, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
Till next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.

CASology Moon Challenge.....

Hello Everyone: Well, here I am again with another CAS card to share with you today. I'm truly having a lot of fun with this beautiful and simple style, I've gotten used to a lot of white space left in my cards so I can just focus on the main image like in this card made for the CASology challenge, the theme this week is "MOON", so here is my card.
I had a little difficulty photographing this card, I wanted to show the scoring lines and the piece of transparency I added to this window but, after a bunch of attempts, I had to put the card on the table and this is the only way it was showing, and not to good, I might add.
The window was die cut with a Sizzix Tim Holtz window die that I had for years, I only cut the window, not the box, since this image is suppose to be looking outside.
I stamped the top of one of the pine trees from SU Lovely as a Tree stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink, I sponged the sky with a Stampabilities Royal Blue ink pad I bought at my local craft store. Santa's Sleigh and Reindeer are from the retired SU set called "Holiday Home", stamped with Stazon Tuxedo Black ink as well as the sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.
Here is the challenge's banner.I hope you like this CAS card. Please leave me your comments and/questions, I love reading them.
Till next time, hugs from Maria.

Naughty Birthday with Monica and Maxwell.....

Hello everybody: You know how much I adore the little, mischievous House Mouse mice so I couldn't resist using this image to participate in the StampInkPaper challenge #13 with a theme of BIRTHDAYS and also, in the NBUS  (Never Before Used Schtuff) challenge #5 with a theme of "Anything Goes". Here is my card.
Little Maxwell, who is the prankster in the family, stopped hanging and securing the word "Happy" on the banner, (as you can see, the Y just fell off of it), just to take time to scare his little sister, Monica out of, what looks, a very comfortable and sound nap.
Here is a close up of the totally mischievous look on this little critter's face and the sweet expression on little Monica's sleeping face.
I hope you like this card, it was so much fun to color it using my SU markers and the aqua painter. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I love reading your comments so, I thank you in advance for visiting.
This House Mouse image is called ''Pop-ular Fun", LOL!!
Here are the banners from this two fun challenges.SIP 13

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe.....

Hello dear friends: I hope your long Holiday Labor Day weekend was fabulous, it's still very much like Summer up here in NW Indiana and I plan to keep enjoying it till it's gone.
I have a Christmas card I made for you today and I'm sharing it at two challenges.
The "Less is More"  Green and Gold color challenge and the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #139. Here is my card.
The image is from a retired Flourishes stamp set called "Under the Mistletoe", it was just perfect for both this challenges. I stamped the image with Gray Stazon Ink, I wanted to keep it soft and a bit vintage. As you can see, this image is simple and quick to color with my SU markers. I used Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, River Rock, More Mustard, So Saffron and Chocolate Chip. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the leaves and the berries. The bow has a little shimmer gold paint.
I die cut the image with SU Label Collection dies, (retired) then, I glued it back in it's place to give this simple card a little dimension but still keep it CAS.
The gold ''Peace" word I can't remember where it's from. I made the mistake of not saving the name of this set of 4 dies, but I think it's from Spellbinders, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Here is a close up, I hope you can see the shimmer of the Wink of Stella and this pretty gold paint.
I hope you like this card, please leave me your comments and questions, I'm always happy to help.
Here's the sketch that inspired this card. "Less is More" challenge is GREEN and GOLD.     Till next time, happy stamping.   Hugs from Maria.

Be my Honey Bee for Match the Sketch.....

Hello my dear friends: I have a cute little card to share with you today for Match the Sketch challenge, here it is.
It's made with a retired 2009 Stampin Up! set called "Just Buzzing By....." This is a treasured set for me, this little bees are so cute and adorable and sweet.
I colored them and the Bee Hive with SU markers and the aqua painter, gave their wings a bit of sparkle with Dazzling Details and stamped a little bit of grass under the hive, fast and easy card but I think it's so totally cute.
Here is a close up of this little sweeties.
I love her on top of the Hive, I stamped her with my Stamp-a-majig, since this is a wood mounted set.
Can't help but smile, right?  I hope you like this card, please leave me your comments, love to read them. If you have any questions, please let me know, I will answer it the best way I can.
Here is the sketch that inspire this card.
Till next time, happy stamping.
Hugs from Maria.
